    Rhinoceros Modeling Camera

This study was prepared as part of a direct modeling workflow discussion opened on the McNeel forum during the Rhino 9 development process.

In the forum, users were asked, “How would you approach this workflow in Rhino?” As a reference, a very fast and practical camera modeling video created in NX was shared. Honestly, I didn’t know NX could be this practical in terms of direct editing.

I modeled a similar camera form in Rhino using my own workflow and recorded the process. During the modeling process, I used NURBS surface modeling, Boolean operations, deformation methods, rebuild surface operations, and fillet details.

I wasn’t satisfied with a few parts, so I deleted them and re-created them from scratch as surfaces. This added about 5–10 minutes to the total modeling time.

Below, you can find the original McNeel forum discussion screenshot, the NX reference video, my Rhino modeling process, and the final CAD data.
